Plus, Gaga discusses how she got into her dark character and stayed with it
Synopsis
Struggling with a dual identity, failed comedian Arthur Fleck meets the love of his life, Harley Quinn, while trapped in Arkham State Hospital. Lady Gaga, Brendan Gleeson and writer-director Todd Phillips share what scared them most about taking on the musical sequel. The film’s subtitle is Folie a Deux, which means “The Madness of Two” in French. This initially led to speculation about Harley Quinn appearing in the film, which was soon confirmed.
It is also known as Lasègue-Falret syndrome
The name Folie a Deux comes from the 19th century French psychiatrists Charles Lasègue and Jules Falret. The term was coined to describe two or more people who share the same insanity or delusion. The foreman is talking about “the people of New York,” not Gotham City. This is because New York State is the plaintiff in the criminal case, and this version of Gotham City is obviously located in New York State (most versions of Gotham are in New Jersey).

The story adds nothing really new or original
The Joker sequel had a lot of promise, but the end result fell short of expectations and was a bad movie as well. The ambitious choice to turn the film into a musical, while brave, was not interesting. The relationship between Joker and Harley Quinn, while central to the plot, is unconvincing and lacks the emotional depth that could have made it memorable. Joaquin Phoenix confirms his talent, but his performance is also a bit repetitive compared to the first film.
Bad movie overall
Lady Gaga gives a solid performance as Harley Quinn, but the character seems overwhelmed by the Joker’s dominant figure. Finally, “Joker: Folie à Deux” It is a film that leaves a feeling of incompleteness, I did not like it.
